Recycling

The purpose of this blog is to inform the general public the importance of recycling materials that can be recycled. In my case I am going to talk about recycling at Tennyson High School(THS). Recycling at Tennyson High School, is not a very common practice, because first of all their aren't any recycling bins at Tennyson High School, the second one being, the students not aren't taught the use of recycling and the third one being, very few people really care whether the materials are recycled or not since it doesn't affect them directly. Some of you may have heard of SLWRP while some of you may have not heard of it, well in full SLWRP stands for Service Learning Waste Reduction Program. The 4R's are as listed Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rot. All of these 4R's can be practice in many ways. For example you can practice Reduce by buying and shopping at sores with used clothing, Reuse by fixing broken things that can be fixed, Recycling by putting all recyclable materials in recycling bin or center, and Rot by making compost of everything organic.
Tennyson students need to get involved because not recycling affects them to and the planet we call home.
